  In this laboratory-oreinted program, students learn fundamental techniques used by ecologists to study the environment. The importance of accuracy in obsveration, measurement, record keeping and interpretation of data is emphasized. Students are shown techniques such as those used to measure populations, to determine population density and to measure temperature stratification in a lake or pond.
