A CLASS DIVIDED

This sequel to the classic "Eye of the Storm" program explores what the participants in Jane Elliott's classroom learned from her daring experiment about discrimination. This thought-provoking documentary exposes what those children learned about racism, prejudice, and stereotyping. Reflecting on their frustration, anger, and pain when being confronted with bias and inequity, the participants in Elliott's experiment talk about the effect her lesson has had on their lives. You'll also see Elliott teaching her brown eyed/blue eyed lesson to employees of Iowa's prison system, casting further light on what discrimination feels like and how it can change a person. Includes a discussion guide by Jane Elliott to stimulate productive dialogue about the role of racism in our society. (Approximately 1 hour)
