Includes DVD with additional scenarios, full-color Willow Pond Storybook, Workbook of activities, crafts, parents' letters and reward charts, and the Kelso "Hoppin' Home" Board Game. Please Note: The Counselor Activities and Crafts will further develop and refine the Kelso's Choice concepts and philosophy, and do not constitute a stand-alone curriculum. Counselor Activities Workbook The Counselor Activities Workbook provides counselors, parents and teachers with activities, crafts and games to support the Kelso's Choice conflict management curriculum. Each activity reinforces the concept that every child is capable of becoming a peacemaker and offers options students can choose from to resolve conflicts. The Counselor Workbook reinforces Kelso's Choices beyond the schoolhouse walls. The workbook is divided into two sections for Grades K - 3 and Grades 4 - 5 to reflect the varying developmental levels. Grades K - 3 lessons are designed around Kelso the Frog, and offer nine options students can choose from to resolve conflicts. Grades 4 - 5 lessons are based around K.C.'s Choices which present eight verbal and nonverbal choices. Students are taught to use these choices and differentiate between problems they can handle on their own and those requiring adult intervention. They will also be empowered with skills to make, and become accountable for, their own choices. |
