The rate of teenage suicide has nearly tripled since 1960. Four out of five teens who attempt suicide give a clear warning about their intentions. This program provides viewers with the information, focuses on the warning signs, and debunks common myths about depression and suicide.

Using profiles of real teens, scenarios, and insights from nationally recognized expert on teen suicide, Rich Lieberman, school psycholo-gist and coordinator of the LA Unified School District/Suicide Prevention Unit, this program engages viewers and sensitizes them to the issues of depression and suicide.

Myths like: “People who talk about suicide aren’t really serious.” and “Talking about suicide may cause someone to go out and do it.” are debunked. Warning signals like: changes in personality, drop in school performance, and obsession with death are elucidated.
