STUDENT WORKSHOP: HARASSMENT HURTS GOSSIPING, TAUNTING & BULLYING

Grades 3-5

Stem the tide of bullying in your school by showing youngsters the devastating effects of gossiping, taunting and bullying. This program gives youngsters the opportunity to consider and discuss strategies for coping with this difficult and pervasive problem.

Rumors & Gossip! Rachel is mad at Chloe for breaking her promise to invite her to her birthday party, so she spreads the story that Chloe is going to be held back. Now Chloe is suffering with stomachaches and doesn’t want to go to school.

Taunting! Max has begun dreading lunchtime, ever since the 4th Grade Field Day Races when his slow speed cost his class the win. Now some kids have started calling him "Turtle." When he shows the name-callers how upset he is, the taunting gets worse.

Bullying! A group of older kids have begun bullying Jake and Danielle every time they go to the park. They grab their bikes and try to steal their money. When Jake and Danielle realize that they can’t solve the problem themselves, they decide to get help from the head of the Recreation Department. Teacher's Guide Included (18 min) c2003
